There are many ways to plug in and all efforts are appreciated and valuable. Volunteer Program
Getting started as a volunteer for HTFAS is simple! Here’s how to begin:
1. Complete your volunteer application.
2. Check your inbox for an acknowledgment email. This email will contain instructions for registering and submitting your fee.
3. Attend an orientation! Arrive at your scheduled time to receive your t-shirt and learn the fundamentals needed to get started.
The HTFAS Volunteer Handbook serves as a guide for all volunteers.
Group volunteer days are welcome! Start by completing our group volunteer application and email your application to volunteer@happytrailsfarm.org.
Closed – Animal Caregiver (Part-time)
Join the wonderful team at Happy Trails! We are looking for a passionate and hardworking animal caregiver to join us.
We seek candidates who are available for a few scheduled shifts a week, with the possibility of covering additional hours. Our most immediate needs are for weekday mid/evenings and weekend days/evenings.
This part-time position offers a starting rate of $15 per hour. If you have experience handling horses, this is a fantastic hands-on opportunity that is perfect for senior high school and college students. We can’t wait to meet you!
Shifts run:
Day shift: 7am to 3pm
Midday shift: 11am to 7pm
Evening shift: 4pm to 8pm
Applicants must be willing to:
- Provide hands-on care for various farm animals.
- Perform physical daily chores typical of a working farm, including lifting hay and 50lb feed bags, moving wheelbarrows, and mucking stalls.
- Be present for shifts regardless of weather conditions (this is Ohio!)
- Have flexible hours, including availability for nights and weekends.
