Francesca was seized by the Cleveland APL in Cuyahoga county. She had been alone in a dark stall for far too long.
Happy Trails received a call to assist and we were honored to take in this horse to give her the care she so desperately needs. She immediately received IV fluids and a stick was worked out from the folds of her eyelid. She was so thin and so dehydrated, but after her IV fluids she was resting more comfortably. Unfortunately, Francesca began to have neurological issues which forced us to look at her quality of life. Along with the assistance of our vet, we decided to euthanize her at the age of about 25 years old. She learned what love and happiness was and passed peacefully.
