May 29, 2014: Sad news to report. We have lost our wonderful friend and founding pig, George. Recently his tumors were biopsied and George was found to have cancer. During his examination it was found that he had a severe infection possibly caused by a sharp tooth way back in the interior of his mouth. The hard decision was made to save him from long and ongoing cancer treatment. Happy Trails founder, Annette, spent the day with George, feeding him his favorite treats and giving him the special love and attention he deserves. We will miss George but know that he has moved on to a better place and will be reunited with Janice to oink of the sanctuary they founded, the work that has been done and the continued healing their sanctuary will provide.
