Berkley
is a very sweet, lovable, 20 year old Standardbred gelding, retired
now from being an Amish buggy horse. Due to arthritis and leg issues,
he can no longer work, but will make a fantastic farm pet for some
lucky family! Berkley, a handsome bay, is on the smaller side, and
gets along famously with all other horses. Adoption Fee: $250 |

Callie is a ten year old beautiful chestnut
Arabian mare. She has a slight limp due to a previous knee injury which
resulted in bones fusing together as they healed. She is available for
adoption as a pasture buddy for another horse. She is great to work with
and has really nice ground manners. She is pretty and petite, about 14
hands, and gets along well with other horses. She usually picks one out
that she buddies up to and becomes it's best friend. Adoption
Fee: $250.00 |

Evita: A beautiful 12 year old chestnut Arabian mare. Due
to her poor conformation and pronounced swayback, it is not in her
best interest to hold the weight of a rider so she cannot be ridden.
However, it has been suggested after a thorough evaluation at the
Equine Specialty Hospital, that it may be beneficial for her to learn
to pull a cart. This would help to strengthen her back and front end,
and in the long run make her more comfortable by helping her to be in
better shape. So Evita may have potential as a cart horse if trained
properly. Evita is very sweet, loves being groomed, and seems to be a
quick learner. She is small and petite (about 14 hands), and is
looking for a home where she can be spoiled and loved. She would make
a fantastic Pasture Pal for some lucky horse and also could be
wonderful for someone who is willing to get her professional driving
lessons.

Koda
is a handsome brown and white twenty-something Paint gelding. Arriving
at Happy Trails as a starvation case, he was able to gain back some
weight. However, he has been diagnosed with a rare disease called EMND
(Equine Motor Neuron Disease). This disease hinders weight gain and
Koda may never be able to gain back the weight he needs. Koda is
especially sweet and loving, and needs a quiet, loving family who will
allow him to retire with other quiet horses. Adoption Fee:
waived to the right family! |

Migisi Now fully recovered and waiting for
you to open your heart and home to a sweet, rescued horse, Migisi
has endured quite a bit during his life. Arriving at Happy Trails on
December 1, 2007, he was a walking skeleton of a horse — and a
stallion to boot! Migisi was given TLC, had his teeth floated, was
given proper nutrition, was gelded, and had his hooves trimmed. He
is now in great health, but due to the fact that he was a stallion
for so long, he can still be somewhat aggressive with other horses.
He is a gem with people, and very sweet and easy to work with!
Migisi's ideal home would be one where he could see other horses,
but not be kept in the same paddocks with them for safety sake.
Migisi had never been taught to ride, so he is available for
adoption as a Pasture Pal, a big ol' pet horse! He said he may enjoy
a goat for company too! (See the article on Migisi's rescue on the
Happy Trails home page.) Adoption Fee: $250. |

Nick
A handsome, 12 year old Standardbred gelding, arrived at Happy Trails
through the Amish Horse Retirement Program. Nick is very sweet to work
with, and gets along great with all the other horses! This youngster
will make someone a fantastic pet, but he is not ridable due to very
weak suspensory tendons. Otherwise he is healthy and happy, and he
really needs a loving family he can call his own! Nick is a big boy,
nearly 16 hands, and has a beautiful black coat coming through
underneath his shedding winter fur! Adoption Fee:
