| Denny Dillon to the rescue .... |
By Annette Fisher
Executive Director, Happy Trails Farm Animal Sanctuary, Inc. |
A large dump truck unexpectedly
arrived in the driveway at Happy Trails on Wednesday morning, and
a guardian
angel
got out. He said that he was going to spend his entire day
hauling bank run for th e flooring of the new barn that the
sanctuary is building for the rescued animals, and that he wanted
to donate his time and services. This kind soul is no other than
Denny Dillon, the owner of Dillon Dozer Service located in
Rootstown, Ohio. He had heard about our situation through
another angel of mercy, Deb Robinson, who has helps Happy Trails
and looks out for us, the animals, and our
volunteers on a regular basis. Dave Robinson, Deb's husband, spoke to
Denny about the
next step we needed to take to get closer toward our goal of
finishing the new barn before winter sets in. Not only did Denny
spend all of Wednesday helping hauling bank run to help the
sanctuary, but half of Thursday as well. He made what seemed like
a billion trips in and out of our narrow gates, whizzing through
them with this huge truck like he had done it a million times
before, and hauled
well over 200 tons of gravel for the huge barn that is in the
process of being constructed.
Thanks to him we now have the proper dirt for the
floor of the barn, and volunteers can continue on Sunday with
constructing the walls and stalls. Many many thanks to Denny
Dillon for all of his time, trouble, equipment and expense.
