Feathered Friends : Ducks
Happy Trails always has an assortment of ducks available for adoption.
All ducks adopted from Happy Trails must have a safe shelter that is closed and secure at night in order to protect them from predators such as fox, coyotes, raccoons, mink, weasels and stray dogs. In addition, we recommend a secure fenced yard for the daily turn out of the ducks. We do not adopt rescued domestic ducks to open ponds unless that pond is fenced and the ducks are placed in a safe shelter overnight. Domestic ducks are unable to fly away from wildlife and other predators, so by placing a domestic duck on an open pond, you are basically providing them as food for the local wildlife. We try to place the rescued ducks in as safe of an environment as possible.
All ducks adopted from Happy Trails must be adopted in pairs or adopted to homes that already have a companion animal.
NOTE: Due to the number of feathered friends in and out of Happy Trails, we are only listing a few in each category. To make inquiries about additional chickens we have up for adoption, contact us via email and we will be glad to provide further information.
