On Saturday, June 13th, an emergency fundraiser to benefit the many rescued animals of Happy Trails was held at Wilson Feed Mill in Valley View, Ohio,
Beth Rozman, co-organizer of this fundraiser and representing Babushka's Kitchen, talks with visitors at the raffle table.
thanks to compassionate, caring individuals and event organizers Beth Rozman of Babushka's Kitchen in Northfield Center and Eileen Roloff of Happy Trails.

The kind folks at Wilson Feed Mill were extremely gracious and welcoming, and encouraged the Happy Trails crew to take over their parking lot to set up our tents, displays and to make comfortable the animals who arrived to meet and greet their guests.

Natasha the goat, our community representative and all-around cute-as-a-button

public appearance in behalf of Happy Trails. Odessa took her role as a sanctuary reprsentative very seriously, and as her way of letting everyone know of her appreciation for their support, licked clean everyone hand, face, leg and item of clothing that she could get near. Odessa just had her right eye removed several weeks ago at OSU due to a severe eye infection, and she has recovered so wonderfully and has such a great attitude and outlook on life, that she insisted on attending the fundraiser on Saturday.

to represent our feathered friends in need of homes. The happily quacked to all the kids who admired them through their cage, and educated folks about the benefits of having ducks a part of your family.

Janet Cobb, Happy Trails volunteer, holds Chesney, an ex-cockfighting rooster, for visitors to pet.
Chesney and Sebastian, two ex-cockfighting roosters, LOVE people, and were more than happy to call out to everyone using their very best crowing ability which they had been practicing all week. Both of these colorful little creatures were more than happy to be held and passed around and pet, for they want to show the world how wonderful chickens are and how gentle some animals are who are forced into fighting situations.

Thanks to the many sponsors who made this event possible, there were some fantastic raffle prizes, refreshments and baked goods, fun things to purchase, and some great give-a-way items too. Logo apparel such as t-shirts, baseball hats and tank tops was on hand to purchase, and some really wonderful displays showing some of the rescued animals helped provide education about animal abuse and animal neglect situations.
Annette Fisher, Executive Director of Happy Trails, gives a talk about the rescue efforts of Happy Trails.

Annette Fisher, Happy Trails Executive Director, gave a presentation on the rescue work of Happy Trails and took questions about several court cases, and talked about the way our laws here in Ohio relate to animal abuse.
