There's nothing cuter than a baby goat! Unless, that's...TWO baby goats!  Brown and white mama goat, Lilith, gave birth on Monday, July 19th, to two completely adorable babies, Queen Nefertiti and King Narmer. Two new precious baby goats are now gracing us with their presence at Happy Trails! We are happy to report that mama Lillith is healthy and doing well and is being a wonderful mother to the babies! We are seeking a permanent home for mama and her new little girl and boy!  

Please help us spread the word that Norman is currently seeking a home with a mud waller, apples, and fly spray. He said that he can make his own mud waller and that Happy Trails can send along the apples and fly spray...check out Norman and help us find his new family!

During the week of June 7th, Happy Trails agreed to assist with the rescue of a group of ten Thoroughbreds who were discovered in various stages of neglect. Happy Trails has now received custody of 8 of these horses. Here is the story!

Happy Trails will be assisting the Humane Society of the United States with a massive horse rescue that just took place. HSUS has assisted in the removal of 49 horses, mules, and donkeys from a horrible neglect situation in West Virginia.  Happy Trails has offered our assistance in any way possible. Please help us spread the word that Marquis needs a home! This quite handsome 20 year old Standardbred gelding recently retired from his life as an Amish buggy horse. He is so incredibly sweet, and he is sound and ready to do some light trail riding! Here's his flier!

Last Friday, May 14th, Gallagher and Thelma set off on their great adventure as they headed off to their new homes in Virginia! Two wonderful young calves were adopted by the most awesome folks --- here's their heart-warming story!  (And video too --- video for Gallager; video for Thelma!)

Thanks to talented Kent State University students, Katherine Dillon,  Kayla Landolph and Marcus Gerrett, and an innovative class program created by Kent State faculty which brings together students, the university and the community, Happy Trails now has a wonderful new promotional video to share - check it out!

Got a dollar to spare?  It may sound like a silly idea, but it's fun, cheap and effective!  Happy Trails gets over 300,000 hits on our website monthly (yes, you read that right!).  If even only half of the folks who check out our website would donate $1 to help the rescued animals whenever they visit us on the web, it would help tremendously with feed, grain and veterinary costs for most of the year! Here's the scoop... 

Just following up on three pink farm piggies who were adopted over the past six months --- this heart-warming blog and 30-second videos will bring a smile to your face, especially when Olivia calls to Pippy and Scarlett and they come running over the fence --- they clearly know who mama is!  Enjoy!

George, a small stray black goat from Poland, (formerly known as Stinky George before he was neutered at Happy Trails), was terribly shy and afraid of people. That is, until his foster dad, Jason, worked with George to help him become more adoptable. George's video demonstrates what loves, time, care and patience can do for an animal!

Buddy is a 20 year old quiet and gentle chestnut Quarter horse who is seeking a family of his own!  He would be great for some light trail riding and he is all heart --- he simply adores the people who take care of him and he is like having a big puppy. This week's featured animals in need of kind and loving homes are Zachariah and Solomon, a pair of very small but very handsome roosters --- please help us pass along their adoption flier and help us find them a kind and loving home!

The ultimate idea in working together has Happy Trails and Sanders Wildlife in a friendly little competition doing a "Donation Swap" --- we are collecting items from their Wish List for their upcoming "Wildlife Baby Shower" to help them with all the orphaned spring wildlife. In turn, they are collecting items to help Happy Trails. Here's the fun details!

Q: Who Adopts Rescued Horses?  A: People With Big Hearts And Lots Of Love!  People like 4 year old Luc Thompson! Well, OK, Luc adopted Ariel, a 19 year old Arabian mare, with a little help from his mom, Lynn. Details!  This video clearly shows the joy that  rescued horse brings to a little boy with a big heart who loves her!

Many thanks to the good folks at Mercy For Animals for inviting Happy Trails to give a very special presentation at their Cleveland Dinner on Thursday night, March 25th.  We had a great crowd and we appreciate the opportunity to work together with other animal organizations!
