Harold The Duck — What Can We Learn From Him?

On Tuesday, January 19th, a very sweet, white Pekin male duck was brought to Happy Trails by his rescuer. The duck had been found starving and freezing to death in the snow. This domestic duck had been dumped on an open pond. Let's have Harold's situation teach everyone why it's so important NOT to purchase cute little baby ducks and chicks for Easter.

Stautzenberger College Hosts Class At Happy Trails!

Twenty vet tech students and their instructors from Stautzenberger College flooded the sanctuary at Happy Trails on Monday, June 8th, to listen to respiratory rates, take temperatures, hear intestinal sounds, and delice chickens. Ask any student — it was a long four hours!

On Wednesday, June 3rd, Timi Sullivan sadly said good-bye to her adoptive Happy Trails rescued horse who brought much joy into her life and the lives of all those around her. Timi wrote this article about Polly in one of her many columns before Polly crossed Rainbow Bridge, so it's an article celebrating her life and the people in it.

Sugarcreek Auction In The News Again — This Time USDA Fines Auction Owner, Leroy Baker

Well-known for it's cruelty to animals and horses in particular, the Sugarcreek Auction once again made newspaper and television headlines by receiving a $162,800 fine from the USDA for violations of animal safety regulations.
