 Adopted Feathered Friends

Edward: A white Pekin male duck who is a "special needs" little guy. Edward is an amputee - his left leg had been amputated due to being found with fishing wire wrapped painfully around his leg. He gets around well, but will need a place willing to provide him with a small kid's pond all year long to exercise his good leg. He needs plenty of room to exercise, and a safe place to snuggle in at night. Gets along well with other ducks, chickens and geese.

Sydney: A small, beautiful, black Banty-type rooster that had been dropped over the wall at the Akron Zoo. This tiny little guy is fun to have around and very pretty to look at. Though he's not very affectionate, he is not an agressive rooster. He will require plenty of exercise room and a completely safe environment at night to be kept away from predators. He does like his heat lamp in the Winter.

Gavin, a beautiful rooster recently joined the Happy Trails rescue program. He was found abandoned on a highway in Cleveland, but now has other farm animal friends to roam around the yard with and is in the setting a rooster should be in — a huge barnyard in which to play, grass to peck through and lots of dirt to scratch. Gavin is not an aggressive or mean rooster, but is somewhat shy. Gavin's requirements is that he has a large exercise area in which to enjoy being a chicken, and a predator-safe enclosure where he be safe and comfy at night. If you think you would make a great home and would like to meet Gavin, give us a call at (330) 296-5914!  or Email Us

Happy Trails currently has an assortment of Muscovy males in need of good homes. We would like to adopt them out at least two or more at a time, since they are used to being together in their groups. Adoption requirements for ducks and geese are: they must have a predator-safe enclosure where they can be kept safely at night; we do NOT adopt to open ponds, where the ducks normally become prey for predators such as fox, coyotes, raccoons, mink, weasels, etc.; ducks must be provided with water, even if it is a small kiddie pool; ducks must be fed a healthy diet of commercial feed.  ADOPTED
